There's been a lot of change in the past few weeks, and everyone has had to adapt their everyday life to stay safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19 - the most common change that most of us has had to make is working from home. Here at Signs, Safety & Surveys Ltd. we're used to a busy, buzzing and banter-filled office environment, so working from home was a little alien to us at first. But over the last few weeks, we feel that we've adapted well to ensure that the smooth operation of our business continues.
Today, we want to share with you our life hacks for working from home and what we've found useful to keep up our hard work!
Gone are the days of needing to take your work computer home, all thanks to the wonders of technology! A remote desktop app allows you to "stream" your work computer screen to your home computer. This has made working from home considerably easier for us. In fact, I'm actually creating this blog post right now using remote desktop!
Now for this one, it's worth mentioning that this is entirely dependent on your businesses call volumes, but if you're expecting important calls to your business line, it's really easy to divert these to your mobile when you're away from the office - a quick Google search will help you achieve this!
There's nothing worse than working in silence. Having music on not only makes you feel good but it also helps to boost your productivity! For example, I've been listening to Charlie's Mixes on YouTube - I definitely recommend them!
It's a British commodity, we can't go one day without making at least one cup of tea! Make sure you always have a cuppa and some water next to you throughout the day to stay hydrated.
If you can, work next to a window. Natural light is linked to the release of a "happy hormone" called Serotonin which has been proven to boost your mood and productivity.
We hope these life hacks help you whilst you're working at home! Feel free to share your tips with us!
