DS Smith, one of our most loyal customers, called upon us to help them materialise their latest idea: a segway tour of their impressive paper mill in Sittingbourne. The purpose of the tour was to get their workforce, who usually only go from their car to the office, outside and around site to see their projects in action, what changes are being made around site and where money is being spent. Stretching across the entire perimeter of the site, this segway tour was set to provide a never before seen, stunning perspective of the historic paper mill. This meant that equally stunning signage was required.
We designed, manufactured and installed a range of beautiful bespoke signage that tied perfectly in with not only DS Smith's branding and corporate identity but also with the surroundings; the signs looked as if they were always meant to be there!
From large custom PVC banners to a number of bespoke lectern signs complete with stand-off fixings for that high-end aesthetic, each sign uncovers more about the history of the paper mill as you ride your segway around site.
We're all Sagittariuses here at Signs, Safety & Surveys; our star sign says that we love a conundrum - and we do! This project was not short of challenges but we came, saw and conquered as we understood just how important this project was to our friends at DS Smith. The main part of this project that proved to be the biggest challenge was the semi-circular showcase lectern sign. Due to the uneven ground and location of this sign, we had to make each of the 4 angled posts with a different gradient to ensure that the sign would sit level.
This project is by far one of our favourites.
